The following construction update applies to the following roads. All work will occur in the order that the roads are listed in:
- York Way: Westminster Way to Everett Ln
- Tomahawk Rd: Tacoma Blvd to Manitou Dr
- Tacoma Cir: Tacoma Blvd to End
- Kenosha Dr: Penobscot Dr to Birchwood Dr
- Redwing Dr: Birchwood Dr to End
- Dobie Cir: Dobie Rd to End
Weather permitting, the schedule for lower manholes, milling (i.e. removing existing asphalt), and paving will proceed as follows:
- 9/18-9/19: Lowering Manholes
- 9/20: Milling (i.e. removing existing asphalt)
- 9/23-9/26: Paving two layers of asphalt on each road
Once paving has been completed, the contract will return in 1-4 weeks to raise manholes and pour cement collars around them. Cones will be placed around the cement collars while the cement cures.
In the event that a construction date is cancelled due to a storm event or other unforeseen circumstances, the Township will work with the contractors to put a new schedule in place.
8/8/24 - Tacoma Hills Notice
The Township is currently ahead of schedule for the 2024 Local Roads Program. To make use of the remaining construction season, we are moving some of the 2025 roads up to 2024.
The roads shown in orange on the map linked below are the only roads that can be moved up to the 2024 construction season. The roads highlighted in blue on the map will be reconstructed in the spring and/or summer of 2025.

Concrete work on the roads highlighted in orange will occur in mid-to-late August, depending on weather conditions. The paving work will occur in September and/or October.
Residents in Tacoma Hills will be receiving the following notice in the mail in approximately 1-3 weeks:

8/7/24 - York Way and Dobie Circle Notice
Weather permitting, the Township’s contractor is scheduled to mill (i.e. remove the existing asphalt) on Summerfield Court and the final portion of Spring Mill Drive on Wednesday August 14. The paving schedule has not been finalized yet, but we currently anticipate paving the first of two layers of asphalt on August 16 or 17. Please check back for updates on the paving schedule.

Meridian Township has confirmed with the Ingham County Drain Commissioner’s Office that the Township can proceed with the repaving of Summerfield Court and the cul-de-sac of Spring Mill Drive. The Township is currently working to finalize a schedule with its paving contractor and will publish the schedule when it is available.

Weather dependent, the construction schedule for Pine Creek Circle and the Wood Valley Neighborhood is as follows:
7/15-7/16: Milling (i.e. removal of existing asphalt)
Paving on 7/17 was canceled as the soils need to dry out before paving can begin.
7/18-7/20: Paving (two layers of asphalt will be paved)
7/22: Contingency paving date if needed to complete the paving (two layers of asphalt will be paved)
The resurfacing of Summerfield Ct. is currently on hold while the Ingham County Drain Commissioner’s Office investigates the need for storm drainage improvements that could potentially require work under Summerfield Ct.

Abonmarche Memo - May 31, 2024 Update
The Township will announce the schedule for Pine Creek Circle and Area E once work is nearing completion on the roads in Area D.
5/24/24
On our May 10 update, we announced that work was scheduled to begin on Pine Creek Circle on May 15. After that schedule was released, the contractor decided to wait to begin work on Pine Creek Circle.
Pine Creek Cir will now be included with Area E instead of Area D due to construction logistics and the necessary quantities of asphalt that would need to be produced.
Weather permitting, the upcoming construction schedule is as follows:
- 5/24-5/29: Holiday work stoppage for the Memorial Day weekend.
- 5/30: Raising manholes on Hardy Avenue, Sandridge Drive, Wild Cherry Path, and Sugar Maple Lane now that paving has been completed. Concrete collars will be poured around all of the manholes and cones will be left around the concrete collars while they cure. The cones will be collected once the concrete has cured.
- 5/31: Lowering manholes on Riverwood Drive, Burning Bush Drive, and Long Leaf Trail in Area D.
- 6/1: Begin milling (i.e. removal of existing asphalt) on Riverwood Drive, Burning Bush Drive, and Long Leaf Trail.
- 6/4: Finish milling (i.e. removal of existing asphalt) on Riverwood Drive, Burning Bush Drive, and Long Leaf Trail.
- 6/5-6/7: Paving two layers of asphalt on Riverwood Drive, Burning Bush Drive, and Long Leaf Trail.
Once all paving has been completed on Riverwood Drive, Burning Bush Drive, and Long Leaf Trail, manholes will be raised within 2 weeks. Concrete collars will be poured around all of the manholes and cones will be left around the concrete collars while they cure. The cones will be collected once the concrete has cured.
The Township will announce the schedule for Pine Creek Circle and Area E (i.e. the Wood Valley Neighborhood) once work is nearing completion on the roads in Area D.

Areas A and B - The Township’s contractor completed the milling and paving of the roads in Areas A and B on Thursday, May 2. More information can be found in the memo below:
Abonmarche Memo - May 3, 2024 Update
All silt sacks were collected from catch basins on Friday, May 3. Weather permitting, manholes will be raised on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10.
Concrete collars will be poured around the manholes after they have been raised, and cones will be left around the manholes while the concrete cures. The cones will be removed once the concrete has cured. The roads in Areas A and B will then be completed.
Area C and Part of Area D - Weather permitting, on 5/9, 5/10, 5/13, and 5/14, the Township’s contractor will begin lowering manholes in Area C and on three of the six roads in Area D:

The contractor may begin mobilizing equipment and materials to these roads as early as Monday, April 15, but active construction will not begin until Monday, April 22.
4/9/24
Concrete work to complete spot repairs of failing curb and gutter, as well as upgrades to the sidewalk and pathway ramps to meet current ADA standards, began on Monday, March 25.
The paving contractor is scheduled to begin work in Area A in late April. The following roads are scheduled to be resurfaced between April and October of 2024, beginning with Area A and continuing in the order listed:
