Volunteer Opportunities

Every effort contributes significantly to maintaining a sustainable and welcoming community with the highest quality of life for our residents. Businesses, non-profit organizations, service groups and individual residents all play a key role in supporting and maintaining an exceptional, family-friendly environment.

We are very appreciative to everyone who volunteers and contributes to making Meridian Township A Prime Community. We thank you for serving the community. Please select one of the events and choose the register button in the upper right corner to volunteer. Short descriptions are provided on each event page on this page below.

  • Meridian Regional Recycling Event Opportunities in April and September:

Residents, volunteers, and co-sponsors helped collect and recycle, re-use, and/or safely dispose of old stuff. On Recycling Day drivers will drop their goods off at designated stations where volunteers will help them unpack, direct traffic, distribute information, etc.

Park Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Love A Park Day

This is a great volunteer opportunity for the community to come together to help keep our parks, land preserves and other public spaces throughout the township clean, prime spaces. We welcome individuals and groups to sign up.

  • Friend of the Park Program Opportunities:

The Meridian Township Park Commission is seeking community-minded individuals and groups of all ages to adopt one of the community’s local parks as a “Friend of the Park”.

This ongoing program asks that volunteers commit to oversee a local park, serving as the Township’s “eyes and ears,” as well as develop suggestions, clean-up activities and improvement projects to enhance a site’s appearance and public use. “Friend of the Park” volunteers can be individuals or neighborhood associations, service clubs and youth groups.

Having this kind of special attention has been invaluable. Residents have conducted routine clean-up projects, created and maintained flower gardens, organized fundraising efforts and groomed trails.
