As part of the Meridian Wetland Education & Restoration Program, Wetland Walk tours will be offered every month featuring wetlands in the Township. These tours are meant to expand the community's knowledge of the ecosystem services wetlands provide, ordinances & regulations for wetland protection, as well as local restoration efforts. Participants are encouraged to pre-register for Wetland Walk tours, but drop-ins are welcome.
To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Please see below for specifics on the topic and location for each walk.
Meet at Lake Lansing North Preserve to explore the springtime stirring of vernal pools, our smallest and most precious wetlands, on Wednesday, April 27 at 5:00 pm. The tour is roughly an hour and a half long. This Wetland Walk was rescheduled from April 6 due to weather.
