We will work on cutting oriental bittersweet vines from the Spruce tunnel, working north west toward the river. Oriental bittersweet is an aggressive invasive vine that will quickly choke out several acres of trees in short time. Help us manage this pest in one of our most beloved natural areas. No prior experience necessary and all tools are provided.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community! Our next one is on March 26.
Participants must register for all events. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather.
