Community members are invited to the Marketplace on the Green (1995 Central Park Drive, Okemos) for a reveal and ribbon cutting ceremony of Meridian Township's newest art sculpture. 

Local artist, Dane Porter, was selected to design, fabricate and install a new metal art sculpture. The new art sculpture will be installed in the area around the Marketplace plaza where it will be highly visible and can be appreciated by visitors. The goal of the piece is to be a source of pride for the citizens and community while complementing the existing atmosphere and built environment.

This investment in public art and artist entrepreneurship, was made possible through local funding sources. Meridian Township was awarded a $10,000 Public Art Grant from Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) with support from the PNC Foundation. The Meridian Economic Development Corporation contributed an additional $5,000 towards this project.
