The Green Meridian Team is hosting a series of “pop-up” recycling events at the new Marketplace on the Green (1995 Central Park Drive, Okemos) in conjunction with the Meridian Township Farmers' Market this spring and summer. 

Meridian Township is partnering with the Ingham County Health Department and local pharmacists on a medicine collection on Saturday, July 17 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The medicine collection and “Green Resources Table” will be located in the center of the Marketplace. 

Guidelines for medicine recycling:

• Remove old medicines from bottles/blister packs (except liquids and controlled medications) and place in ziplock bag. 

• Keep controlled medications in original containers and cross off name.

The East Lansing-Meridian Lions Club will be on hand to help recycle and reuse pill bottles.

Meridian’s 2021 Recycling Events are supported by volunteers and co-sponsored by Granger Waste Services, Ingham County Health Department, Delta Dental, the State of Michigan (Office of Energy, Great Lakes, and the Environment - EGLE) and the Regional Recycling Coordinating Committee.
