Winter Taxes Due

Winter property tax bills were mailed on November 30, 2020 and are due on February 16, 2021. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, residents are strongly encouraged to utilize one of the low contact or digital payment options available including:

  • Mailing tax payments to 5151 Marsh Road Okemos, MI 48864. Residents must include their stub with payment. Check or money order payments only.

  • Dropping off tax payments in one of the 24-Hour White Drop Boxes located outside the Municipal Building (5151 Marsh Road Okemos, MI 48864). Residents must include their stub with payment. Check or money order payments only.

  • Registering for automatic payments at http://bit.ly/MeridianBill (case sensitive). There is no additional fee for taxpayers who sign up for the online ACH payments from checking or savings accounts.

  • Paying online at http://bit.ly/MeridianBill (case sensitive). An additional fee will be charged for the use of credit card and debit card payments.There is no additional fee for payments made from a checking or savings account using a routing number and an account number.

In lieu of a date stamp, receipts will be sent upon request. Receipts can be issued electronically or by mail.  Residents are asked to please indicate on their payment stub if they would like a receipt. To receive a receipt electronically, residents must also include their email address on their payment stub. 

Payments are also accepted in person in the Town Hall Room of the Municipal Building (5151 Marsh Road Okemos, MI 48864) during business hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. When paying in person, residents are encouraged to bring the entire bill and completed checks with them to expedite the payment process. Cash payments will only be accepted at the Treasurer’s Office counter. Visitors must wear a mask to enter any Township building. Members of the public are to stop at the Security Desk upon entering the Township Municipal Building to control group numbers in certain areas in order to support social distancing requirements.

Payments must be received in the Treasurer’s Office by February 16, 2021, or a 1% late fee will be charged. Taxpayers should be aware that local mail goes to Grand Rapids for sorting then comes back to the Lansing region for delivery, so the USPS takes days longer than in the past.  Please note that USPS post-marks are not accepted as proof of payment.
