Join us to remove invasive shrubs to prepare sites for winter seed sowing of native species at Tihart Preserve (1000 Tihart Road, Okemos). Help us bring more diversity into this area to benefit local pollinators and wildlife. No experience is necessary and all tools are supplied. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Long layers are recommended for irritating plants and insects.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
