The Friends of Historic Meridian will host a speaker series at the Village Chapel (5151 Marsh Road, Okemos) on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 pm.

Guest speaker Sam Lovall will present on his published collection of short stories, Mud Lake. Mud Lake provides accounts of childhood adventures in Haslett during the 1960s and 1970s and transitions into discussions about circular energy and climate change. 

Lovall has over 35 years of professional landscape architectural experience in design, construction, and grant writing for parks, riverfronts, trails, and environmental planning. Lovall has also instructed landscape architecture classes at Michigan State University.
