Join us at Ted Black Woods for invasive shrub cutting & native seed collection! Help us remove invasive shrubs that are threatening our local native ecosystems. We will also collect native seeds along the way that will be planted back into parks and preserves to restore diverse habitat. No experience is necessary, we will teach you all you need to know. All tools are provided and no experience is necessary. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and wear closed-toed shoes. Come connect, learn, and conserve with us!
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
