Cancelled - Stewardship Saturday

Planting Native Habitat

UPDATE 8/9/24

The Stewardship Saturday scheduled for Saturday, August 10 has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Join us Saturday, August 10 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm for our Stewardship Saturday at Davis-Foster Preserve. We will be planting native New Jersey tea shrubs and early goldenrod. Planting native species in these areas provides beneficial habitat and food for local insects and wildlife. No experience is necessary and all tools are provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes.

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
