EVENTCANCELLED
Due to high waters in this area, and dense mosquitoes we will have to cancel our Trailside Ecology for the month of June. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Our next Trailside Ecology will be August 20th, 2024 at Davis Foster Preserve at 6 pm!
Meet at Red Cedar Natural Area to take a walk along the river in search of native floodplain plants, wildlife, insects, and fungi. This unique area is extremely diverse and will give you an opportunity to get up and close with uncommon plants, like the Green Dragon! Trailside Ecology hikes are a way to learn about our local flora, fauna and Township natural areas. Join us to connect, learn and conserve!!
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed toed shoes are highly recommended. Guides, binoculars, and knowledge are welcome on all Trailside Ecology hikes.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All events are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get free MCC swag, sign up at the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage.
