Join us at Red Cedar Glen Preserve to help prep our prescribed fire management area for the spring burn season! We will also discuss why prescribed fire is important, how it is misunderstood, and any burning questions you have. We will use loppers and saws to break down brush piles and manage some of the down dead woody debris. All tools will be provided and no experience is necessary!
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get free MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
