On Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, residents in the Capital Area can safely recycle their unwanted items at Chippewa Middle School for the annual Spring Recycling Day.
Accepted Items:
- Metals: Washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters, air conditioners, small fridges/freezers, dehumidifiers, mowers, snow blowers. Including bikes and bike parts. Can be working or non-working. $10 fee if item contains Freon. $15 rebates available for Consumers Customers (bring a copy of your utility bill) for mini-fridges, dehumidifiers and window air conditioners.
- Document Shredding: Staples, paper clips and small spiral binders accepted, confidential locked storage until shredded.
- Paint: Latex only. $1/qt. can, $3/gal. can, $15/bucket. Please keep in original can, don't mix colors. Can be liquid or dry.
Non-Accepted Items:
- No gasoline, oil or light bulbs in metal appliances. No oil-based paint or stains. Contact Ingham County Health for information about hazardous waste at 517.887.4312.
- No x-rays, 3-ring binders, large binder clips, VHS tapes or CDs.
