The Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department invites you to celebrate the season with fellow pet lovers at their 'Here Comes Santa Paws' walk and picture event on Tuesday, December 19 from 5:45 pm to 8:00 pm. Participants will check-in outside the Meridian Service Center (2100 Gaylord C. Smith Ct., Okemos) before taking a stroll through Nancy Moore Park for a photo with Santa!

The walk includes a 1/2 mile loop through the woods that leads to the Nancy Moore Park Pavilion, followed by a 1/2 mile walk back to where vehicles are parked. If needed, a shorter trail is available. Simply request the shorter trail when checking in. 

Participants must register before the event and pay the $7 fee at recreation.meridian.mi.us. At the link, select Special Events from the provided menu, then select the Special Events dropdown menu at the following page to see event time options. In order for pet owners to not all come at once, we are asking for participants to register for a 15-minute timeslot within the event. There is a limit of 10 dogs for each time slot. 

Please note that only one owner per pet needs to sign up, and that dogs must be leashed at all times.
