The Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, February 27. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Voters at the polls must show a picture ID or sign an affidavit that they are “not in possession of a picture ID” before they are allowed to vote. If you are voting via absentee ballot, please read more below.
There are three ways voters can return their absentee ballot:
- Mail to the Meridian Township Clerk’s Office at 5151 Marsh Road Okemos, MI, 48864. No postage is needed and ballots must be received by 8:00 pm on Election Day, February 27.
- Drop off at one of four ballot boxes by 8:00 pm on Election Day, February 27. Each box is secured to the ground and includes 24/7 video surveillance:
- Meridian Township Municipal Building (Outside) | 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos
- Meridian Township Municipal Building (Inside) | 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos
- Haslett Library (Outside Front Entry) | 1590 Franklin Street, Haslett
- Okemos Library (Outside Front Entry) | 4321 Okemos Road, Okemos
- Vote absentee ballot through the tabulator at the early voting site (Meridian Township Municipal Building, 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos) on any one of the 9 days prior to Election Day, February 27. Early voting at the early voting site is not allowed on the Monday (February 26) before Election Day.
The four ballot boxes will open in December and will be checked daily beginning December 15. The boxes will close at 8:00 pm on Election Day, February 27.
Absentee ballots must be returned to the municipality in which the voter lives by 8:00 pm on Election Day or they will not be counted.
