Trick-or-treaters will roam the streets of Meridian Township on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For the safety of all your little ghouls and ghosts, please follow these Halloween safety tips from the Police Department:

• Select a costume that is the right size to prevent trips and falls.

• All costumes, wigs and accessories should be fire-resistant.

• Use reflective tape or stickers on all costumes. Use non-toxic face paint instead of masks for better vision.

• Use glow sticks or flashlights to help the kids to be seen by drivers.

• Put down electronic devices, keep heads up and walk, don't run, across the street.

• Children under the age of 12 should not be alone at night without adult supervision.

• Kids mature enough to be out without supervision should stick to familiar, well lit areas and

  trick-or-treat in groups.

• Teach your children never to enter a stranger's home or car.

• Tell your children not to eat any treats until they return home.
