The Ingham County Road Department (ICRD) will be holding a Public Information Meeting regarding the 2023 Lake Lansing Road Construction Project. This meeting will be held at the East Lansing Public Library (950 Abbot Road, East Lansing) on Wednesday, June 21 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The ICRD is inviting the public to attend to learn more about the upcoming Lake Lansing Road construction project, which will convert the existing four-lane roadway to a three-lane roadway from Abbot Road to Hagadorn Road. The updated roadway will have one lane in each direction, with a center turn left lane and paved shoulders. A new traffic signal will also be included at the Towar Avenue/Birch Row Drive intersection of Lake Lansing Road.
The contractor will begin construction on Monday, June 26. The Lake Lansing Road/Towar Avenue/Birch Row Drive intersection will be closed to through traffic beginning on Monday, July 10, with a scheduled completion of August 26. Final paving will take place after the intersection has reopened. This project's scheduled completion date is September 29.
Local traffic access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and at Albert A. White Park throughout construction, however, short duration of closures may be necessary at times in order to complete certain construction work.
Project updates will be posted to the “Road Construction” page of the Ingham County Road Department website at roads.ingham.org. Any other project questions or concerns can be directed to Road Department staff by calling 517.676.9722 or emailing roads@ingham.org.
