Help us give the pond some extra love at the Historical Village! We will work in the Monarch Waystation that grows along the pond buffer to remove invasive species and spread some native seed. Vegetative buffers along ponds and wetlands serve an important function, providing wildlife & insect habitat, and filtering stormwater runoff. Please dress appropriately for the weather; long layers keep you warm and can always be peeled off if needed. We will provide all tools and no experience is necessary!
Weekday Warriors occur every other Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and litter pick up in high quality areas. Warrior workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
