Join us for native seed sowing at Tihart Land Preserve! We will meet at the entrance of the preserve near the intersection of Tihart Road and Whitetail Circle. Please just park on the side of Tihart Road. We will walk in to designated areas and sow some of the native seeds we have collected this year. Activities may include raking, scattering seeds on the surface of the ground, or burying seeds. No experience is necessary, we will teach you what you need to know! Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
