Stewardship Saturday

Planting Native Species

  • Meet us at 4000 Sago Way in Okemos where we will head out into Sander Farm Natural Area to plant native species and add diversity to this beautiful area. Please park along the road and be mindful of fire hydrants and resident driveways.
  • We will provide all tools, but bring a kneeling pad, water, and work gloves if you have them. Dress in long layers to avoid irritating insects and plants. The weather looks like it may be unpredictable, so please check your email for any cancellations before the workday.

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community! The location and activity for the workday scheduled on July 15th are to be determined, check back in as the event date approaches for more details.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get free MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
