We will work at Davis Foster Preserve to install native plant species such as early and showy goldenrod and butterfly weed to promote biodiversity for our local insects and wildlife! Please dress appropriately for the weather, we will mostly be in the sun for the duration of the workday. We will provide all tools needed, just bring yourself and a bottle of water.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community! The location and activity for the workday scheduled on June 3rd are to be determined, check back in as the event date approaches for more details.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
