(LOCATION UPDATE)
Due to levels of mosquitos at Ted Black Woods, we will be changing the location for our Trailside Ecology event scheduled Tuesday, May 16th, to Davis Foster Preserve located at 5120 Van Atta Road in Okemos. You can park in the lot near the brown pole barn on the east side of Van Atta Road. We will be on the lookout for early grassland and wet meadow species such as golden alexander and purple angelica. Bring a pair of binoculars if you wish to view birds, which are in abundance in this area! Please email ecampbell@meridian.mi.us for any questions or to RSVP.
Trailside Ecology programs occurs once a month from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at a different location. Learn more about our local flora and fauna while getting to know our parks and preserves personally! This month we will be meeting on May 16th at Davis Foster Preserve. The focus of this Trailside Ecology program is to learn about flora and fauna that come to life during Michigan's springtime.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All events are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
