EVENT CANCELLATION
This event scheduled for Saturday, November 19th, has been cancelled. Please look for future dates to work on trails at Lake Lansing North. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Join us at 1000 Wild Ginger Trail to plant native species in Lake Lansing North Preserve! We know it seems like an odd time to put plants in the ground, but these species will be tucked in for the winter for next year's growing season. These plants were collected by the MCC as seeds from parks and preserves in the fall of 2021. They spent this year growing up at a local native nursery, and now we are putting them back into Township land for habitat restoration. Common frostweed and yellow pimpernel are just a few of the species we will plant and get to know. Beat those cold weather blues and get outside to do some good!
Please always check the weather before attending any events and dress appropriately. Being warm can greatly improve your experience in nature!
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register, but drop-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
